...But it all comes down to the publisher.

Vanillaware‘s founder George Kamitani recently stated that he wants to port more of the studio’s games to PC. However, the prospect of such ports coming to life is dependent on the publisher’s funding.

Recently, Vanillaware announced that it would port Muramasa: Rebirth to other consoles via a remaster, titled Muramasa: Revenant Blades. In an interview, Kamitani stated that if fans want to see ports for games such as Unicorn Overlord13 Sentinels: Aigis RimDragon’s Crown, or Odin Sphere, they’ll need to “make some noise.” Only time will tell if publishers like ATLUS will look into the idea further, considering its recent emphasis on multi-platform support

Muramasa: Revenant Blades, which is combined with the Genroku Legends DLC, will release in 2027 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and, for the first time ever, PC. The PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch versions will be $49.99, while the Nintendo Switch 2 version will be $59.99 and have the entire game on cartridge. A Limited Edition will also be available retailing at $89.99 and $99.99. It has the game, a collectible art book, a limited CD featuring select tracks from the game, and a 10′ x 14″ byōbu folding screen with more art.

Lastly, the Steam page describes the game as follows:
