Nintendo Switch 2 is the best-selling console across units and dollar sales for March 2026 and 2026 year-to-date in the United States, according to Circana senior director Mat Piscatella. PlayStation 5 is ranking second for March and 2026 year-to-date.

The latest sales news came just weeks after Nintendo formally announced its plans to publish digital games exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2 with differing pricing compared to the physical copies in May 2026. Sales and pre-orders for Yoshi and the Mysterious Book will be the first to reflect the new pricing model for Nintendo Switch 2 games going forward. According to Nintendo, the change “simply reflects the different costs associated with producing and distributing each format.”
Splatoon Raiders is another title that will be cheaper to purchase digitally. The single-player and co-op Splatoon game will be available for $49.99 digitally and $59.99 physically starting July 23.
