Hanada Keika, a writer at NOVECT, has revealed that the story scenario for its upcoming game, Project Code M, is now complete. The release date for the game is currently unknown.

In a message posted on his social media, Keika stated the following:

I finally wrote the very last line. The scenario for my new work is finished. It became a moment I’ll never forget. I can’t help but feel that I may never be able to write something like this again. I’m truly glad I was able to write this story. It contains everything I am.

I don’t think it’s a word the writer themselves should use, but even so, I want to say it anyway: this is a major work. In terms of sheer volume, it surpasses The House in Fata Morgana. That said, length alone means nothing, so I cut away anything that felt redundant and poured my full attention into every single line.

I’m excited to see how it will be received, and at the same time, I’m nervous. It’s a story that goes in a different direction from Fata Morgana. But if you trust my writing itself, I promise I won’t betray that trust.”

Aksys Games recently announced the company will publish the game. It is confirmed to release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam. Lastly, the latest trailer describes the game as follows:

We are excited to announce Project Code M, a mystery game currently in development where you seek the truth behind a series of murders from the perspectives of both the killer and the investigator. The story takes place in present day Tokyo, focusing on the Shitamachi area such as Asakusa and Yoshiwara, and involves Japan’s criminal underworld. As the murderer, set your trap, corner the target and commit your crime. The style of murder will unfold differently depending on the situation. As the investigator, uncover the truth by searching for clues and questioning witnesses. More details coming soon!
