Shueisha’s Saikyō Jump magazine has announced that Haruichi Furudate’s Haikyu!! manga series is getting a new spinoff manga titled Sudate Hinagarasu, or Hinagarasu Leaves the Nest in English. The manga is based on Hinagarasu, the Haikyu!! series mascot character and parody of Shoyo Hinata. Retsu is drawing the manga, which is set to launch on January 5 in the February 2026 issue of Saikyō Jump.
During Jump Festa 2026 weekend, the staff of the anime series that the Haikyu!! Vs. The Little Giant anime film will open in 2027 in theaters in Japan. The film will play with Haikyu!! Bakemono-tachi no Iku Tokoro (Where Monsters Go), a new anime special that depicts a high stakes game between Fukurōdani Academy and Mujinazaka High School. Susumu Mitsunaka write and directs the second sequel film at Production I.G.
Haruichi Furudate launched the Haikyu!! manga in 2011, and VIZ Media publishes the manga around the world. The Haikyu!! anime by Production I.G. ran from 2014 to 2020 with multiple seasons. In 2024, the anime series returned with Haikyu!! the Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump, which is part of a two-part film series.

Based off of the original Weekly Shonen Jump manga series from Haruichi Furudate, Haikyu!! is a slice-of-life sports anime revolving around Shoyo Hinata’s love of volleyball. Inspired by a small-statured pro volleyball player, Hinata creates a volleyball team in his last year of middle school. Unfortunately the team is matched up against the “King of the Court” Tobio Kageyama’s team in their first tournament and inevitably lose. After the crushing defeat, Hinata vows to surpass Kageyama After entering high school, Hinata joins the volleyball team only to find that Tobio has also joined.
