Nintendo and Illumination have released a new trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which previews the battle between Mario & Luigi against Bowser Jr.
Brie Larson, the Academy Award winning actress from Room and Captain Marvel, will voice Rosalina. Benny Safdie, director of The Smashing Machine and Uncut Gems, who has also acted in Oppenheimer and Obi-Wan Kenobi, will voice Bowser Jr. The movie’s previously released clip gave fans a better look at the introduction of Bowser Jr, who dons his Super Mario Bros. Wonder design.
Additionally, Nintendo and Illumination also released a new poster for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. The poster showcases the Sand Kingdom and its denizens, the Tostarenans, who initially appeared in Super Mario Odyssey. The first trailer teased the Kingdom, alongside recognizable elements from Super Mario Galaxy like the Megaleg boss fight.
Previously, Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed that The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is in the final stages of development. The film will release in the United States on April 3, 2026 in theaters in the US. The movie will premiere on April 24, 2026 in Japan, three weeks after the US premiere.
Nintendo released Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 for Nintendo Switch for $39.99 on October 2.
