Nintendo and Illumination announced that the new animated Super Mario Bros movie will premiere on April 24, 2026 in Japan. The movie premieres exactly three weeks after the US premiere on April 3, 2026.

The Super Mario Bros Movie was a major success for Nintendo and Illumination, with millions of fans having watched the film in theaters. Well over $1 billion in ticket sales were generated, and the movie also made its debut on Netflix this past December.
