Nintendo released Tetris 99 in 2019 as a complementary title with Nintendo Switch Online memberships. As the name suggests, the game is a 99-player battle royale with the gameplay of Tetris. Past Maximus Cups have featured art and music from Pikmin 4, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe, WarioWare: Move It, Super Mario Bros Wonder and more. Most recently, the 49th Maximus Cup gave players another chance to earn rewards based on Return to Dream Land Deluxe, Dream Buffet, and Forgotten Land to commemorate the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Forgotten Land.
Kirby Air Riders is available now on Nintendo Switch 2. Final Weapon reviewed the game, rating it a 4.5/5. We described it as a game which is “absurdly challenging to get into. The controls are complicated, and the process of unlocking things is a mess. But when you eventually understand the gameplay mechanics, the sheer amount of content, the thrilling races, and the modes like City Trial and Road Trip, will keep you engaged no matter how long you play. Masahiro Sakurai has done it again!”
