Tetris 99 34th Maximus Cup Includes Pikmin 4 Designs

Earn a Pikmin 4-themed reward before launch.

Nintendo and developer ARIKA announced the Tetris 99 34th Maximus Cup event begins soon with Pikmin 4 designs. For a limited time, Tetris 99 players may earn special rewards before the launch of Pikmin 4 later this month.

The Tetris 99 34th Maximus Cup event will be held from Friday, July 7 at 12:00 a.m. PT to Monday, July 10 at 11:59 p.m. PT. During the event, players may compete in event matches to earn points toward unlocking a special Pikmin 4 theme for Tetris 99. The new theme includes art, music and Tetrimino designs inspired by the upcoming Nintendo Switch game. A total of 100 points is required to unlock the new theme, and the developers have updated the point system. The newly revised point system makes it easier for players to accrue 100 points to unlock the theme. In fact, winning a single match now nets 100 points.

Here’s what each placement grants in points according to Nintendo’s latest blog post:

A Nintendo Account must be registered with play activity in the Pikmin 4 demo and Pikmin Bloom to receive the bonus, however. The reward code for the bonus will be available within My Nintendo.

For those who don’t want to wait until Pikmin 4’s launch, Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 2 are available to purchase now in the Nintendo eShop. Lastly, Pikmin 4 launches on July 21 for Nintendo Switch.
