    Tetris 99 Reveals WarioWare and Super Mario Bros Wonder Events

    Earn 100 event points to unlock new themes.

    Nintendo revealed two new Tetris 99 Maximus Cup events will be held featuring WarioWare: Move It and Super Mario Bros Wonder themes. The Tetris 99 37th Maximus Cup – WarioWare: Move It Edition event will begin first on November 30. 

    Nintendo released Tetris 99 in 2019 as a complementary title with Nintendo Switch Online memberships. As the name suggests, the game is a 99-player battle royale with the gameplay of Tetris. Past Maximus Cups have featured art and music from Pikmin 4, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe, and more. WarioWare: Move It and Super Mario Bros Wonder will be the next two themes for the game.

    Tetris 99 WarioWare and Super Mario Bros Wonder Maximus Cup Events

    Firstly, the Tetris 99 37th Maximus Cup – WarioWare: Move It Edition event will be held from November 30 at 11:00 p.m. PDT to December 4 at 10:59 p.m. PDT. During this event, players may participate in matches to earn event points. After earning 100 event points, players will unlock a new theme featuring art, music, and Tetrimino designs inspired by WarioWare: Move It

    The Tetris 99 38th Maximus Cup – Super Mario Bros Wonder Edition event will run from December 14 at 11:00 p.m. PDT to December 18 at 10:59 p.m. PDT. Like the previous event, fans can earn a new theme after earning a total of 100 event points. 

    Here’s an overview of Super Mario Bros Wonder, via Nintendo: 

    Join Mario and friends on a new 2D side-scrolling adventure full of wonder! Every course contains its very own Wonder Flower – collect one, and anything can happen. From moving pipes to tilting terrain, singing Piranha Plants to stampeding Bulrushes, skydiving to space walks, you never know what’ll happen next.

    You might even transform into something totally new! Pick to play as Mario, Luigi, Peach and more! They all play in exactly the same way, so you can freely use your favourite character without having to worry.

    The world of Super Mario Bros. Wonder is even better when enjoyed with others! Play together locally or online and help save the Flower Kingdom from Bowser as a team, or enjoy enhancements to solo play by connecting online.

    Lastly, Tetris 99 is available now for Nintendo Switch.
