SEGA and NextNinja have opened pre-registration for its new Gintama mobile game, Gintama Sumaho Battle Chronicle (or Gintama Smartphone Battle Chronicle). Gintama Sumaho Battle Chronicle is a new “chibi character battle” where players can form a party of their favorite characters from the popular anime series.
A pre-registration campaign for the new Gintama mobile game is also live. Players can earn up to 50 free gacha spins worth of Silver Crystals (in-game currency) and SSR character Gintoki Sakata if total pre-registrations exceed 300,000 in Japan. A worldwide release was not confirmed, however.

Hideki Sorachi’s popular Gintama series began with the manga in 2004 and ran all the way until June 2021. The original Gintama anime series is streaming with English subs on Crunchyroll. Hulu is also streaming Gintama Seasons 2 and 3 with an English dub. The New Gintama the Movie: Yoshiwara in Flames film will open in theaters in Japan on February 13, 2026.
In addition, GINTAMA – Mr. Ginpachi’s Zany Class spinoff anime is now streaming on Crunchyroll and Anime.com. Botchi Boromaru performs the opening theme song “Sakurakaze (Cherry Blossom Wind),” and LONGMAN performs the ending theme song “Underclass HERO.”

Natsumi Higashida is directing the GINTAMA – Mr. Ginpachi’s Zany Class anime at BN Pictures. Makoto Moriwaki is the general director, and Kazuyuki Fudeyasu and Mitei Mark II handle the series composition. Gintama animation director Shinji Takeuchi returns for the project, and Audio Highs will compose the anime’s music.
