Bandai Namco has released a new update for Tamagotchi Plaza, marking the return of the Cake Shop from Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop from the Nintendo DS. The managers of the Cake Shop in Tamagotchi Plaza are Mametchi, Memetchi, and Kuchipatchi’s dads. The Cake Shop retains music, sound effects, and other features from the Nintendo DS game, and more shops are planned to be added in future updates.
Tamagotchi Plaza launched on June 27 for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. As previously announced, the game is compatible with the Tamagotchi Uni device, which is sold separately. Final Weapon previously reviewed Tamagotchi Plaza, noting that it’s “a charming game with characters that are cute enough to hold their own. However, the mini-games leave much to be desired due to repetition, and the time it takes to complete shop upgrades can leave you drained.”
A total of 15 shops will be available in Tamagotchi Plaza Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. On Nintendo Switch 2, players can head to the Sushi Shop and grip the Joy-Con 2 to make and serve sushi to customers. Players can also show off their throwing skills at the Shuriken Shop or combine both of their newly acquired techniques in the Sushi Shuriken Shop. As a reminder, players who own Tamagotchi Plaza on Nintendo Switch can transition to the Nintendo Switch Edition by purchasing the upgrade pack in the Nintendo eShop.
