Yakuza Kiwami 3 Officially Announced

Featuring revamped gameplay, new scenes, and more.

SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have announced Yakuza Kiwami 3, a remake of 2009’s Yakuza 3 with revamped gameplay, story changes, new cast members and English voice overs, and new cutscenes in the Dragon Engine. Yakuza Kiwami 3 launches on February 12, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

Like a Dragon Gaiden – Dark Ties will be released as a set package with the game, serving as a backstory with Yoshitaka Mine as the playable protagonist.

The Yakuza Kiwami 3 / Gaiden – Dark Ties cast includes:

  • Takaya Kuroda as Kazuma Kiryu
  • Shido Nakamura as Yoshitaka Mine
  • Satoshi Tokushige as Daigo Dojima
  • Ryo Ishibashi as Shigeru Nakahara
  • Teruyuki Kagawa as Goh Hamazaki
  • Show Kasamatsu as Rikiya Shimabukuro
  • Hiroyuki Miyasako as Tsuyoshi Kanda
  • Kenji Matsuda as Shinpei Ikari

Players may choose to play the main game or Dark Ties in any order. Mine will have unique fighting styles and access to mini-games like Karaoke. There will also be Kanda Damage Control, a new request-based system with substories, and Hell’s Arena, a Coliseum-like underground fight club with Survival.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 costs $59.99, according to Steam. A Digital Deluxe Edition will be sold for $74.99 featuring the following add-on packs (also sold separately):

Before then, Yakuza Kiwami 2 is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on November 13. Alongside Yakuza Kiwami 2, Yakuza Kiwami will receive a Nintendo Switch 2 version with upgraded visuals and frame rates, and both games will support French, Italian, German, Spanish, LATAM Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian text. 

Fans can also start the series with Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut for Nintendo Switch 2, which includes new never-before-seen story cutscenes. A new “Red Light Raid” online multiplayer mode will be available with 60 unlockable and playable characters. In this new mode, players can join their friends and take out hordes of enemies. Moreover, Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut runs at 4K 60 FPS on Nintendo Switch 2.

The latest chronological game in the series is Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, which takes place six months after Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and focuses on Goro Majima. Waking up on an island without his memories, Majima is saved by a young boy named Noah Rich. Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is currently developing the new action game Stranger Than Heaven, which was previously titled Project Century. Stranger Than Heaven was last showcased at Summer Game Fest 2025, and the initial trailer was updated with the game’s new title and logo.
