Toei Animation and developer Donuts have officially revealed Girls Band Cry First Riff, a brand-new Girls Band Cry game adaptation that’s coming soon. Girls Band Cry First Riff will be on display at Tokyo Game Show 2025, which runs from September 25 to 28 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. Platforms and a release date are unknown at this time.
Toei Animation also announced a new Girls Band Cry anime movie is currently in the works. While the new movie is in production, the anime’s first compilation film, Girls Band Cry: Rhapsody of Youth, premieres on October 3 in Japanese theaters, followed by Girls Band Cry: Hey, Future. on November 14.
Returning cast members include:

- Mirei as Subaru Awa
- Natsu as Tomo Ebizuka
- Syuri as Rupa
Kazuo Sakai directs the compilation movies at Toei Animation, with Jukki Hanada handling series compositions. What’s more, Nari Teshima is the character designer, and Daiki Nakazawa and Jae Hoon Jung are the CGI directors. Kenji Tamai was the composer, and Yūsuke Tanaka was credited for the background music.
Girls Band Cry premiered on April 5, 2024 in Japan. The English release followed up in August 2024 digitally in North America, and Crunchyroll is streaming all 13 episodes of the anime.
The new Girls Band Cry 2D platforming game Momoka (o) Wasshoi (Momoka Heave-Ho) launches on September 28 for PC via Steam. The new Girls Band Cry game may be purchased in any region when it launches, but the game does not support English.
