Idea Factory and Compile Heart have announced that Villion: Code, a new “school RPG” by Megami Tensei and Persona series co-creator Kouji “Cozy” Okada, launches digitally in North America and Europe on January 26, 2027 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. Pre-orders are available now for the physical editions.
A Standard Edition of Villion: Code will be sold for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch versions in the IFI Online Store in North America and for the PlayStation 5 version in the IFI European/UK Online Stores. All physical Standard Editions include the reversible cover sleeve with alternative art by Ilya Kuvshinov, along with an exclusive IFI Trading Card while supplies last.
Digital Standard and Deluxe Editions will also be available to wishlist at a later date. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the digital copy of Villion: Code, a digital artbook and short story collection, and a digital soundtrack.
Villion: Code is teased as “Kouji Okada’s final message to the next generation.” Okada is the producer of the new school RPG, and he’s joined by scenario writer Tadashi Satomi, who previously wrote the stories of Revelations: Persona, Persona 2: Innocent Sin, and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment. Ilya Kuvshinov (Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045) is the character designer.
FRAM performs the game’s theme song “Rebirth Code.” The game’s composer is Megami Tensei series composer Tsukasa Masuko, who also previously worked on Dark Auction.
The voice cast includes Kengo Kawanishi, Aimi, Shunsuke Takeuchi, Atsushi Tamaru, Aoi Nagatsuki, and Asami Shimoda.
Villion: Code launched on June 25 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 in Japan. The PlayStation 4 version is a digital-only release.
