The staff of the Butt Detective anime series revealed that new episodes will premiere on October 4. The story of the new Butt Detective episodes focuses on the protagonist losing his memories.
The most recent film in the series, Butt Detective: Star and Moon, premiered in theaters in Japan on March 20. The anime returned on April 5.

Butt Detective initially premiered on NHK International in 2018. The series focuses on a detective with a butt for his face and his partner, a small brown dog named Brown, as they solve crimes.
