Corvette CX.R Vision Gran Turismo Concept

The Corvette CX.R Vision Gran Turismo Concept is a model made exclusively for the track.

The aerodynamics of this car started with the CX design and amped up the aggression, with more prominent active aerofeatures and a lower ride height for downforce and grip. CX.R employs light-weight materials, including carbon fiber, to keep total mass as low as possible.

It is powered by a hybrid system utilizing 2 electric motors up front and one motor in the rear, combined with compact a high revving V8 twin turbocharged engine (using E Fuel). This unit ensures driving performance and range required in endurance racing, plus incorporates a thrilling sound.

The interior is also specialized for circuit use, with the seat shaped to support the driver’s head and neck when exposed to strong horizontal G’s in the corners. The steering wheel has strategically placed physical buttons and knobs so that they can be used intuitively even while wearing racing gloves.

And of course the yellow and black coloring of the Corvette CX.R Vision Gran Turismo Concept carries the tradition of Corvettes in GT car racing in the last 25 years.

Corvette CX Concept

The Corvette CX Concept hypercar will inspire future design language for Corvette.

Designed so that it can be enjoyed on the streets as well as on the track, it is both futuristic and recognizable as pure Corvette.

The CX has key Corvette design elements- a forward-lunging nose, a pronounced horizontal “chine” line delineating the upper and lower bodywork, and the dual-element tail lights. The proportions are long, low, and sleek, with a roofline less than 41 inches high.

On the engineering side, its aerodynamics and power unit are its key features. The car is equipped with an active aerodynamics system which balances efficiency on public roads as well as high performance on the track, but the real highlight is the fan downforce system. Utilizing technology of the near future, jet-aircraft-like thrust vectoring control maintains the front and rear aerodynamic balance.

The drivetrain is four wheel drive, incorporating the RESS system which integrates the power unit into the drive system, producing over 2000hp in total from 4 electric motors.

Gran Turismo 7 will continue to receive major updates on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Previously, Polyphony Digital released the game’s free demo, My First GT, on December 6, 2024. Players may complete the demo to earn bonuses in Gran Turismo 7.
