Nintendo has announced a price increase for the Nintendo Switch family of systems, select accessories, and more in the United States. Currently, the price for the Nintendo Switch 2, along with physical and digital games, will not increase, and Nintendo Switch Online memberships are unaffected.
According to Nintendo, the full list of affected products are as follows:
- Nintendo Switch – OLED Model
- Nintendo Switch
- Nintendo Switch Lite
- Select Nintendo Switch accessories
- Certain Nintendo Switch 2 accessories
- Select amiibo
- Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo
The new prices for each product are currently unknown. The reasoning for the adjustments are due to “market conditions” in the United States. The changes will go into affect on August 3. While the Switch 2 is unaffected by the adjustments, Nintendo says to “please note that price adjustments may be necessary in the future.”
On July 31, Nintendo held a Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase dedicated to third-party games releasing for both the Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. Some of the games highlighted include Persona 3 Reload, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted, and more. Square Enix also revealed Octopath Traveler 0, the next game in the beloved HD-2D series, set to arrive on December 4. Octopath Traveler 0 will release for both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.
