SEGA continues its Racing Around the World campaign with a collaboration between Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and K1 Speed San Diego (San Diego, 1709 Main St, San Diego, CA 92113) will be held from Thursday, July 24 to Sunday, July 27. During the collaboration, K1 Speed San Diego will be transformed into a specially themed experience.
Fans can race on the K1 Speed San Diego premier indoor track, which will be designed to make racers feel like they’re in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. There will also be podium photo opportunities, exclusive giveaways, all-new collaborative merchandise, and classic SEGA arcade machines as well.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds launches on September 25 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The digital Nintendo Switch 2 version is set to launch in holiday 2025, while the physical copy will release in early 2026. Nintendo Switch users will have the ability to upgrade to the Switch 2 version for $10. The game will be available for pre-order on Switch 2 at a later date.
Hatsune Miku, Joker from Persona 5, and Ichiban Kasuga from Like a Dragon are among the first three DLC characters that will be released for free in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. A collaboration between Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and Nickelodeon was also announced, featuring characters from SpongeBob SquarePants, Avatar, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
In addition to free DLC characters, there will be paid DLC characters, thanks to various editions of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and the Season Pass. Sonic the Werehog from Sonic Unleashed is a pre-order bonus, and Steve, Alex, and the Creeper from Minecraft are other new additions with the Season Pass, for example. What’s more, the Nickelodeon collaboration DLC will be available with the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Season Pass and/or Digital Deluxe Edition purchases.
