The Legend of Zelda Live-Action Film Reveals Casting for Link and Zelda

Nintendo has announced the casting for both Link and Zelda for the upcoming The Legend of Zelda live-action film. The casting includes Bo Bragason as Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link. 

Bo Bragason is a relatively unknown actress known for Renegade Neil on Disney+. Ainsworth on the other hand has starred in The Haunting of Bly Manor on Netflix and the live-action Pinocchio as the titular character. At the time of writing, Nintendo has not yet confirmed when Sony will begin filming the upcoming movie will start. The Legend of Zelda will release in theaters on May 7, 2027. 

Wes Ball directs the upcoming live-action The Legend of Zelda movie. In the past, Ball directed The Maze Runner franchise and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. The movie is produced by Arad Productions, known for its work on Spider-Man: Across the Spider-VerseKraven the HunterSpider-Man: HomecomingUncharted, and the upcoming Metal Gear Solid film. Nintendo is co-financing the film with Sony Pictures Entertainment. 

Moreover, the next entry in the Super Mario Bros. Movie franchise will release on April 24, 2026, just one year prior. The new Super Mario Bros. animated movie from Nintendo and Illumination will be titled Super Mario World, according to NBCUniversal’s news release regarding its upcoming slate of films.

Nintendo Switch 2 launched on June 5 for $449.99. A bundle is available for $499.99 featuring Mario Kart World. Games like Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition and upgrade packs for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are also available.
