To celebrate the game’s 4th anniversary, Square Enix released new art of Bravely Default II for fans on Twitter/X. The new Bravely Default II anniversary art was illustrated by Rina Yoshiura from the art team of Team Asano.
Dark Horse Comics will localize The Art of Bravely Default II: 201X-2021 and release it on April 22. The book features 300 pages of character design documents, environmental artwork, and marketing materials. It will also feature developer commentary, published for the first time in English.
Square Enix’s Team Asano lead and Bravely Default series producer Tomoya Asano teased that multiple reveals are on the way in 2025. These projects should “finally come to light soon,” as it was previously teased that fans would know about some developments in the Bravely series in 2024.
One of Team Asano’s latest releases was Triangle Strategy for Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3 on October 31, 2024. Triangle Strategy first launched on March 4, 2022 for Nintendo Switch worldwide. The turn-based strategy RPG came to Steam on October 13, 2022. The game went on to sell over one million copies sold worldwide across both platforms in just nine months.
The first Bravely Default game released on October 11, 2012 in Japan as Bravely Default: Flying Fairy. The success of Bravely Default lead to the creation of the Bravely series, which includes 2015’s Bravely Second: End Layer and 2021’s Bravely Default II. In Bravely Second: End Layer, players experience a story that happens directly after the events of the original Bravely Default.
Bravely Default II is currently available now for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
