About Marvel Rivals’ Future
Recently, Marvel Rivals director, Guangyun Chen, stated that they will add new characters to the game every 1.5 months. Specifically, Chen states that “the length of one season is three months. And for each half of the season, we will introduce a new hero.”
Marvel Rivals Season 1 started on January 10. The season is called “Eternal Night Falls” and focuses on vampires such as Dracula. Only time will tell if the season will also include one of the most iconic vampires in history: Blade. Mr. Fantastic and Human Torch will be duelists (attack), The Thing will be a vanguard (Tank), and the Invisible Woman will be a strategist.
Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman are available now. The Thing and Human Torch will be available later on in the season, likely later this month, to coincide with the release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps teaser trailer. Additionally, a new mode is available, titled “Doom Match.” According to a press release, 8 to 12 players will battle on a single map, each belonging to a different faction, with all factions being hostile to each other. Players can earn points by knocking out enemies, and at the end of the match, the top 50% of players by default will be considered the winning side. A new seasonal event will also be available, titled Midnight Features.
Marvel Rivals is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Check out our review of Marvel Rivals here, where we call the game “a masterful multiplayer title with infinite potential.” New characters will come to Marvel Rivals later in season 1.
