IG Port has announced a merger between Production I.G. and Studio.MD. The merger will go in effect on June 1. Production I.G. will be the surviving company while Studio.MD will dissolve. Since both studios are subsidiaries of IG Port, there will be no transfer of stock, money, or other assets.
Production I.G. has worked on major productions such as Terminator Zero, the recent (and infamous) Uzumaki adaptation, Psycho Pass, Haikyu!!, and more. They will soon work on the next season of Star Wars Visions. Studio.MD has worked on Fire Hunter, Cyborg 009 Call of Justice, Nina the Starry Bride, Napping Princess, and several other anime. Both studios worked on FLCL Progressive.
The Uzumaki anime is available now on most digital storefronts. The English dub cast of the anime includes:

- Robbie Daymond as Shuichi Saito
- Cristina Vee as Azami Kurotani
- Doug Stone as Kirie’s father
- Aaron LaPlante as Shuichi’s father
- Mona Marshall as Shuichi’s mother
- Max Mittelman as Katayama
Junji Ito built a cult following through his incredible works like Tomie and Uzumaki. His works have also inspired games such as WORLD OF HORROR. Moreover, Ito’s most recent work includes Tomie: Control, a one-shot manga released this past April in the Nemuki+ magazine. Tomie: Control is not available in English officially. The Uzumaki anime is available on select streaming services and digital storefronts.
Lastly, the merger between Production I.G. and Studio.MD will go into effect on June 1. Production I.G. will remain intact, while Studio.MD will be dissolved in the process.
