The Japanese streaming service ABEMA has revealed the three finalists for its first ever open-call for its “PROJECT PRISMation” program. The three picks will each get funding for a short anime pilot.

The three picks are as follows (courtesy of Anime News Network):

OXY-HEAVEN – Waboku

Synopsis: Eden, a colossal ship-nation, is booming with postwar reconstruction. In a quiet corner stands the cafe OXY HEAVEN, where a former doctor turned proprietor mends the hearts of wounded souls with a cup of coffee and a healthy dose of meddling. A fantasy ensemble drama set in a steampunk world.

Amneka – orange

Synopsis: In a small school far from anywhere, six students and one teacher live together. Amneka, a young girl, tries to live peacefully alongside her colorful classmates, but a secret she herself does not know begins to quietly unsettle their everyday life. A fantasy comedy set in a small school.

Kandy-Killers for Hire – Dominique Garrow

Synopsis: In an absurd neon city where murder has become a commercial industry, Kandie runs a scrappy assassination startup. When the corporate murder conglomerate ASASU pushes her business to the brink of bankruptcy, she ropes in her best friends Poppy and Gumi for a desperate, blood-soaked marketing campaign. A psycho-pop dark comedy.

The three pilots will release in 2027 “or later” via the ABEMA streaming service. While this is not the first iteration of the PROEJCT PRISMation initiative, this is the first time ABEMA opened registrations to the public. The open call was available from May to August. Alongside producing the pilots, ABEMA will also “support each work on its way to audiences worldwide, from project development, Japanese and English voice casting, sound and music arrangements, and translation to promotion and commercial development.” More details about the release schedule for each pilot will surface at a later date.
