    Haikyu!! Final Film Part 1 Confirms International Premiere Dates

    Premiering worldwide starting in late May.

    Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures have revealed the international premiere dates for part 1 of the Haikyu!! Final Film, titled The Dumpster Battle. The film will be available in Japanese with English subtitles alongside an English dub.

    Haruichi Furudate launched the Haikyu!! manga in 2011. Both Viz Media and MANGA Plus have released the manga around the world. The anime adaptation initially aired in 2014 and lasted until 2020. Earlier this month, Shueisha released a new one-shot manga for the series. The movie will soon air in international theaters.

    During a recent CinemaCon conference, Sony Pictures and Crunchyroll have announced the international premiere dates for part 1 of the Haikyu!! Final Film (or HAIKYU!! The Dumpster Battle). The film will be available in Japanese with English subtitles alongside an English dub. According to Crunchyroll, the premiere dates are as follows:

    • May 30: Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Italy, Switzerland (Italian-speaking), Netherlands, Argentina, Brazil, Central America (Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama), Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru
    • May 31: Canada, Finland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States
    • June 7: Turkey
    • June 12: Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Switzerland (French-speaking)
    • June 25: Austria, Germany
    • June 27: Switzerland (German-speaking)

    The entirety of the original Haikyu!! anime is available on Crunchyroll for viewing. They describe the series as follows:

    Based off of the original Weekly Shonen Jump manga series from Haruichi Furudate, Haikyu!! is a slice-of-life sports anime revolving around Shoyo Hinata’s love of volleyball. Inspired by a small-statured pro volleyball player, Hinata creates a volleyball team in his last year of middle school.

    Unfortunately the team is matched up against the “King of the Court” Tobio Kageyama’s team in their first tournament and inevitably lose. After the crushing defeat, Hinata vows to surpass Kageyama After entering high school, Hinata joins the volleyball team only to find that Tobio has also joined.

    At the time of writing, the franchise’s staff has not yet confirmed when Part 2 of the movie will be released. However, Part 1 of the Haikyu!! Final Film will begin airing internationally in late May. The original Haikyu!! manga is available on both MANGA Plus and Viz Media.
