What Happened in Chapter 17? (Recap)
In chapter 17, Konohamaru and his team work with Sand Ninja Yodo and Araya to retrieve the Thorn Soul Bulbs from Matsuri and Ryu. Upon doing so, Moegi and Shinki will be freed from their trees. Shikamaru advises befriending the trees to gain their trust before betraying them. However, Konohamaru struggles with the morality of this plan, especially since Matsuri resembles Moegi. Nevertheless, the team splits up to search for Boruto while simultaneously reducing the risk of confronting both trees.
Meanwhile, Boruto is concerned about the mission’s success. Kashin Koji quickly cautions him to stay uninvolved to avoid Jura’s interference. Speaking of Jura, he appeared in Konoha in this chapter. Shikamaru had to quickly warn the village to avoid contact, or else the world would be in danger. The chapter ends with Kawaki confronting Amado in the village, demanding his full power to be revealed.
