SEGA Files New Trademarks for Project Century

The protagonist could be working for "Japan Trade Company."

SEGA filed three new trademarks for Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s new action game Project Century. These trademarks were filed on December 10 in Japan but were made public on December 19 (JST).

As spotted by Gematsu, the first of the two Project Century trademarks is “Yashima Boueki Kaisha” (Japan Trade Company), which is the name of the company that appears on the protagonist’s jacket in the reveal trailer. The second trademark is for the logo of the company, which is also on the jacket.

The third and final trademark is “City of Wars,” which doesn’t appear in the trailer. This could reference the 1915 Japanese urban setting of Project Century, but it’s unclear. It’s worth noting that platforms and a release date for the game were not announced, either.

RGG Studio plans to hold events and make several announcements leading up to the Yakuza / Like a Dragon 20th anniversary on December 8, 2025. In addition, RGG Studio is planning to sell various types of merchandise and content for Japan, Asia, and the west starting in 2025. One of the major releases celebrating the franchise’s 20th anniversary will be Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, which launches February 21, 2025.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii takes place six months after Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and focuses on Goro Majima. Waking up on an island without his memories, Majima is saved by a young boy named Noah Rich. After coming to his senses, Majima sets out on an adventure in the Hawaiian waters with Noah to reclaim his memories and uncover treasure. The game also explores the aftermath of Infinite Wealth, including clean-up at Nele Island.
