After an extensive re-development period, Bandai Namco announced mobile RPG Sword Art Online Variant Showdown is now available again on Android via Google Play and iOS via App Store worldwide.
Sword Art Online Variant Showdown previously launched on November 22, 2022, but the game was off to a rough start due to optimization and gameplay issues. In August 2023, Bandai Namco confirmed the game would go into maintenance until summer 2024. This maintenance period was extended after a development progress update in August 2024, leading to the December 18 re-release.

Use Sword Skills and Switches in heated combo battles!
Use character-specific Sword Skills and switch between offense and defense on the fly in this tap-controlled SAO action game. Switch out characters quickly to prevent combos from breaking and continue attacking until the boss is defeated!
New Features
- Play on teams of three in Multiplayer Battle! – Work with other players to take on bosses more powerful than those found in Solo quests! Successfully defeat the enemy within the time limit to get rare rewards!
- Get armor items when you complete stages! – Enhance characters using the many types of armor you get from events and by defeating bosses. The more difficult the stage, the higher the grade of armor you get. Collect powerful armor and challenge yourself to even harder stages!
- The main story is fully voiced! – See the adventures of Kirito and his friends following the events of the latest anime episodes. Plus, you can enjoy their main story fully voiced!
