Sea of Stars is a turn-based RPG that launched in 2023. It takes inspiration from classic Japanese RPGs from the 90s. Examples include Xenogears, Chrono Trigger, and Final Fantasy. Xenoblade Chronicles series composer Yasunori Mitsuda also contributed to the stellar soundtrack of Sea of Stars. Further, the game sold 100,000 copies on launch day. It sold several more copies in the subsequent six days. Iam8bit initially announced the physical edition in February.
The next major DLC, titled Throes of the Watchmaker, will release in 2025. The protagonists will venture into the magical miniature clockwork world of Horloge in Sea of Stars Throes of the Watchmaker. When the land is threatened by a cursed carnival, they must adapt to unfamiliar rules to master their Sun and Moon powers.
In fact, Valere and Zale will both learn new fighting styles. The DLC will also introduce the Artificer, a new playable character, alongside additional areas, music, puzzles and enemies to encounter. According to Sabotage Studio, the DLC will feature a new score from lead composer Eric W. Brown, in collaboration with Yasunori Mitsuda who will return as a guest composer with additional original songs.
Sea of Stars is available now on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
