The official Twitter account for Eiichiro Oda and his staff confirmed that the One Piece manga series is taking another two-week break. This time, Oda is taking a break due to his poor health, and he is currently recovering.
The One Piece manga will be taking a two-week break starting with the 51st issue of Weekly Shonen Jump on November 18. It will return on December 2, which is Weekly Shonen Jump’s first 2025 issue.
Previously, the One Piece manga took a two-week and returned in the 50th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump on November 11. During that time, Oda was conducting “research” for the manga series.
It’s also worth noting that the One Piece anime will also be on break, but for a much longer period. The anime will return with new weekly episodes in April 2025, and more details about the Egghead Arc adaptation will be revealed at Jump Festa 2025.
A special edited version of the Fishman Island arc will begin on November 3, running for 21 episodes as “One Piece Log: Fishman Island Saga.” It will have remade scenes, retouched artwork and color shading, adjusted lighting, a Dolby Atmos soundtrack, and more. It was originally planned to premiere on October 27.
The new One Piece Base mobile app launched in Japan with a manga viewer and additional content from the franchise. This new app is expected to release outside Japan in 2025 with multi-language support. Fans will be able to scan bar codes from select One Piece merchandise into the web version of the app to receive points and unlock chapters to read.
