Supergiant Games has released the first major update for Hades II, titled the Olympic Update. The Olympic Update adds a new region, a new weapon, new allies, new animal familiars, new challenges, and new voice lines. It is also available to play on Mac M1 devices and later. At The Game Awards 2022, Supergiant Games announced Hades II, following the major success of Hades in years prior. Following the show, the developers confirmed that Hades II would release sometime in Q2 2024 for Steam and Epic Games Store on PC only. Similarly to the original Hades, Hades II will launch first in early access, and the technical test allowed players to test out an early portion of the game. About Hades II’s Development
According to Supergiant Games, Hades II‘s development progress is as follows:
“Our first Major Update introduces a third Region and Guardian to the Surface Route, bringing it closer to the Underworld route’s level of completion. We’ve also added the game’s sixth and final main weapon, and iterated on a number of key systems. But there’s plenty more to come, and we can safely say that our next Major Update in Early Access will not be our last!
Once we’re sure The Olympic Update has stabilized and we’ve addressed major feedback as much as possible, we’ll then focus on these major initiatives:
- Climactic Confrontation
- What awaits further beyond the newly-added Region? Once we add that, we will consider the main structure of the Surface Route to be complete.

- New Boons
- Boons are integral to the experience of Hades II, so we have some more additions planned on this front. Surely the Olympians deserve no less!
- New Foes
- We plan to add even more combat encounter variety. Having lots of exciting and varied encounters helps keep Hades II feeling fresh for as long as you play it.
We are planning our next Major Update to launch sometime in early 2025, in a little less development time overall than The Olympic Update. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we press on!
