Ahead of the game’s early access launch, Supergiant Games announced a Hades II technical test will be held on PC via Steam. This technical test will help ensure the launch of the early access version is smooth in Q2 2024.
At The Game Awards 2022, Supergiant Games announced Hades II, following the major success of Hades in years prior. Following the show, the developers confirmed that Hades II is set to be released sometime in Q2 2024 for Steam and Epic Games Store on PC only. Similarly to the original Hades, Hades II will launch first in early access.
Hades II Technical Test Prepares for the Early Access Launch
The Hades II technical test helps Supergiant Games find and solve issues before the early access launch. Only a small subset of players who express their interest in participating will gain access to the technical test. Players may sign-up by clicking “Request Access” on the game’s Steam page. Invites will be sent out via email from Steam with download instructions.
A schedule for the technical test has not been announced, but Supergiant Games expects it to be “longer than a week, shorter than a month.” The developers also note Hades II will launch in early access sometime after the technical test ends, but a release date is not set in stone yet.
“The Technical Test contains the first major area of the game, and other early-game characters, systems, and content (If you played the original game, imagine a version where you couldn’t get past Tartarus even if you vanquished its guardian.),” Supergiant Games said on Steam. “If you end up clearing the first major area a number of times, the game will gently suggest that you discontinue play, as Early Access shouldn’t be far behind!”
