Bandai Namco released a new interview video with Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO producer Jun Furutani, confirming that the game has 5,000 pre-selected lines in Custom Battle, along with the ability to add scripts and subtitles. The mode has extensive features that allows players to create their own unique scenarios with the game’s historic roster.
According to Furutani, Custom Battle offers a variety of options that give Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO players the tools necessary to create their own story. These options include scripts, player positioning, camera movements, poses, facial expressions, subtitles, and much more. The interview video also gives a general overview of the game, the main motivations for the project, and more.

Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO will feature the largest roster in Budokai Tenkaichi history, with over 180 playable characters. Players may also look forward to what-if episodes, like Perfect Cell vs Beerus. It’s worth noting that Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO will receive 20+ playable characters from Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero and Dragon Ball Daima. The roster count will be well over 200 characters after these DLC releases and future updates.
At the Bandai Namco booth at Tokyo Game Show 2024, Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO will be playable. This is one of the first public demos for the game in Japan, giving fans a glimpse into various game modes and the massive roster.
