During Aniplex Online Fest 2024, Crunchyroll announced that they would air Demon Lord 2099 starting on October 12. Additionally, they also released a new promo for the series.
Demon Lord 2099 is a light novel initially published in 2021 by author Daigo Murasaki and illustrator Kureta. Kiiro Akashiro is currently drawing the manga adaptation for Kadokawa’s Shōnen Ace+ website, and the anime will soon follow suit next month. Daigo Murasaki wrote the novels in 2021. It was awarded the Grand Prize out of 1,056 entries in the 33rd Fantasia Taisho. Currently, three volumes are available under the Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint.

Ryo Ando is directing the anime series at J.C. STAFF. Yūichirō Momose is writing and overseeing the series scripts. They are joined by character designer Ryousuke Tanigawa, Jin Aketagawa is the sound director, and composer Tatsuya Katō. Daigo Murasaki wrote the novels in 2021. The artist Kureta provided the illustrations.
