Monster Hunter Now Season 3 Launches With Heavy Bowgun, Magnamalo and More

Cook steak, hunt Magnamalo, and wield a returning weapon!

Monster Hunter Now Season 3 “Curse of the Wandering Flames” has arrived, and Capcom and Niantic revealed what hunters need to know about the September 11 update. This new update celebrates the game’s first anniversary.

Monster Hunter Now Season 3 introduces the cooking mini-game from the mainline series, allowing players to cook Raw Meat into a Well-Done Steak. Eating a Well-Done Steak before a hunt will max out the Special Gauge for five minutes. However, the cooking process can be botched if players aren’t careful, resulting in a Rare Steak or Burnt Meat.

The latest update also adds the Heavy Bowgun. From September 12 to November 30, players may complete quests that require the use of a Heavy Bowgun to gain materials and Heavy Bowgun Training Tickets, which let players forge and upgrade the Bone Shooter.

From Season 3 and onwards, players may hunt Monster Hunter Rise flagship monster Magnamalo, Rajang, and Aknosom in the field. Urgent quests will also unlock Mizutsune and Nightshade Paolumu, who previously only featured in events.

A new Streamer Mode has been added as well, which restricts the display of the user’s Hunter name, Niantic ID, Guild Card, friend-related information, and location data. The “Hide Roads on Map” option will also conceal road information if the user chooses to.

A repost campaign is live on the game’s English and Japanese Twitter/X accounts. If the Season 3 post on both accounts reaches a combined total of 5,000 reposts, players will earn the following rewards with an offer code:

    • Potion x 2
    • Machalite Ore x 20
    • Dragonite Ore x 10
    • Earth Crystal x 15
    • Monster Bone+ x 15
    • Weapon Refining Parts x 1
    • Armor Refining Parts x 1

The offer code must be redeemed before Sunday, October 13th, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. local time.
