During INDIE Live Expo 2024, White Owls and Grasshopper Manufacture released a new gameplay trailer for Hotel Barcelona, an upcoming “2.5D slasher film parodic action” game led by Hidetaka “Swery65” Suehiro (Deadly Premonition series) and Goichi “Suda51” Suda (No More Heroes series). The developers also released new Hotel Barcelona screenshots as well.
After years of speculation and hype, Swery65 and Suda51 finally revealed Hotel Barcelona at the Xbox Digital Broadcast during Tokyo Game Show 2023. The initial concept is inspired Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining, but Hotel Barcelona evolved into so much more over the years. Swery65 ended 2023 by revealing new gameplay footage of Hotel Barcelona to kick off the new year strong.

The latest Hotel Barcelona trailer highlights a minute and a half of gameplay and cutscenes from the full game. Alongside the new trailer, several new screenshots were revealed. Check out the new screenshots below:

Swery65 and White Owls are also developing Death Game Hotel, a new VR horror adventure poker game where the stakes are extremely high. In fact, players will need to put their body parts on the line in order to win the “Death Game 2000” tournament and survive. Players may enter the tournament in a single-player mode, and an online multiplayer mode is also available. The new VR title will come to Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, and Meta Quest 3 as an exclusive to the Meta platform.
