Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that PlayStation Studios head Hermen Hulst and SVP of Platform Experiences Hideaki Nishino will succeed Jim Ryan as CEOs of the company, as reported by Gamesindustry.biz.
Jim Ryan retired from his Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO role in March 2024, three and a half years after the launch of PS5. Sony Interactive Entertainment chairman Hiroki Totoki acted as interim CEO after Ryan’s departure. On June 1, Hulst and Nishino will take up their roles as company CEOs.

Hermen Hulst is the newly named Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO of the Studio Business Group, which includes all PlayStation first-party teams and development of IP into other media, including TV and movies. Hideaki Nishino will be the CEO of the Platform Business Group, including console hardware, technology, accessories, PlayStation Network, and third-party relations.
