Aniplex of America and Crunchyroll have opened pre-orders for the upcoming Gurren Lagann The Movie 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Set. The set will be priced at $135.98 for the two films and will be released on July 2. The 4K versions of these movies include HDR effects, both Japanese and English audio, Dolby Atmos, and audio commentary from Hiroyuki Imaishi, Kazuki Nakashima, and more.
This collection was released in Japan last Fall after the movies returned to theaters. Both of these efforts were part of the 15th Anniversary initiative for the films. The movies made it to theaters in the United States this January, where an English dub was included for the first time ever. Before 2024, neither film received an official English voiceover. All the staff returned to reprise their roles, including Yuri Lowenthal as Simon.
Gurren Lagann was created by Gainax, with Hiroyuki Imaishi serving as Director. The 27-episode series is one of the most beloved mecha anime ever produced, still popular to this day.
