    Gurren Lagann The Movie Coming to Theaters in January 2024

    On Saturday, Studio TRIGGER announced Gurren Lagann the Movie -Childhood’s End- and Gurren Lagann the Movie -The Lights in the Sky Are Stars- are coming to theaters in January 2024. The Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann films will be available with English subbed and dubbed options in participating theaters. 

    At Anime Expo 2023, TRIGGER announced New Panty & Stocking, a brand-new anime series. The studio also announced the -Childhood’s End- and -The Lights in the Sky Are Stars- films would receive revival screenings from August to October 2023. Fortunately, fans may look forward to the movies across theaters around the world as well.

    Gurren Lagann The Movie Will Play in Theaters

    A new tweet from Studio TRIGGER’s official Gurren Lagann Twitter account reveals that the Gurren Lagann the Movie -Childhood’s End- and Gurren Lagann the Movie -The Lights in the Sky Are Stars- will play in theaters in January 2024. Firstly, -Childhood’s End- will play from January 16 to 17, 2024. -The Lights in the Sky Are Stars- will play from January 23 to 24, 2024. Fathom Events will be distributing the movies to participating theaters in 4K and 4D. Studio TRIGGER confirms that the movies will be available in English subbed and dubbed formats. Tickets will go on sale on December 8 at FathomEvents.com. 

    Earlier this year, TRIGGER celebrate the 15th anniversary of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann with the aforementioned revival screenings in Japan. Both of these movies are available in 2D and 4D at select theaters. -Childhood’s End- opened in 2D in Japan on August 25, and the 4D version followed up on October 6. -The Lights in the Sky Are Stars- opened on September 22 in 2D in Japan, followed by the 4D version on October 20.

    A release date for the New Panty & Stocking series has not been revealed yet. At Anime NYC 2023, Trigger reveals that key staff from the original series will return such as Sushio and Mai Yoneyama. These two staff members serve as key animators for the upcoming project.
