The official website for the Gintama anime series confirms the Courtesan of the Nation Arc will receive compliation screenings in Japan. Similarly to Gintama on Theater 2D Baragaki Arc, the compliation will premiere as Gintama on Theater 2D: Ikkoku Keisei-hen.
Hideki Sorachi’s popular Gintama series began with the manga in 2004 and ran all the way until June 2021. In March 2023, an anime adaptation for the 3rd Year Class Z Ginpachi-sensei spin-off novel was confirmed. At Jump Festa 2024, a 2025 premiere window for the anime spin-off was confirmed as fans finished catching up with Baragaki Arc in theaters.

Gintama on Theater 2D: Ikkoku Keisei-hen, or Gintama on Theater 2D: Courtesan of the Nation Arc, will premiere in theaters for limited engagement in June 2024. It covers episodes 257 through 261 of the anime series. A new website for the theatrical screenings will open at a later date. Fans can also expect updates on 3rd Year Class Z Ginpachi-sensei in the near future. The Gintama on Theater 2D: Ikkoku Keisei-hen compilation film is part of the Gintama franchise’s 20th anniversary plans, which also includes Gintama Exhibition – Hatachi no Tsudoi.
