What Happened in Episode 5? (Recap)
Jinwoo undergoes a physical transformation in Solo Leveling episode 5, after training for quite a month’s time in the hospital. The nurses are swooning for him, and one even asks for his phone number as he’s being discharged from their care. He finally heads back home and surprises his sister, Jinah, since he’s much leaner and taller now. After sending her off to school, Jinwoo decides to take on his next job in order to pay rent.
Jinwoo decides to take a job with Hwang Dongsuk’s party, which is comprised of skilled C-Rank hunters. He’s somewhat reluctant to take the job, since the party doesn’t have a healer. However, he’s confident about holding his own, and he’s accompanied by D-Rank hunter Yoo Jinho as well. After signing the contract, the party heads inside and discovers that the dungeon appears to be empty.
A Cautious Jinwoo
Jinwoo’s instincts come in clutch, as he’s able to detect a swarm of monster ants coming from deep within the dungeon. His able to alert the rest of the party means they were able to make quick work of the swarm. However, Jinwoo is still cautious about the party and the dungeon boss.
The party heads into the lair of the dungeon boss, which turns out to be a massive spider guarding a bounty of mana crystals. They surmise that the spider is at least guarding a few billions worth of mana crystals, making every single member of the team rich outside of Jinwoo. Jinho takes offense to this, since Jinwoo is a capable team member that pulled through with the mission.
Dongsuk agrees to give his fair share after his main crew leaves the lair to get equipment to mine the crystals. Unsurprisingly, Jinwoo’s intuition was right on the money, since the rest of the party sealed off the lair’s entrance with an explosive spell. Jinwoo and Jinhoo are now trapped in the lair, but the protagonist doesn’t feel fear in such a situation. He’s ready to take down the massive spider as the episode comes to a close.
