What Happened in Episode 4? (Recap)

Sung Jinwoo faces the Steel-Fanged Lycan without a weapon in Solo Leveling episode 4., placing him in a tight spot. However, Jinwoo manages to adapt on the fly by summoning a sword from his inventory, allowing him to defeat even more Lycans as they appear. Jinwoo grinds plenty of XP in the process, greatly increasing his strength.

In the outside world, a dungeon break sees monsters flood into the city, causing a section to be blocked off by the military and nearby hunters. Meanwhile, Jinwoo slaughtered a whole pack of Steel-Fanged Lycan, leveling up tremendously. He notices that more powerful enemies are now within his reach, so he decided to fight some more and target the dungeon’s boss, the Blue Venom-Fanged Kasaka.

The large snake toys around with Jinwoo, overpowering him throughout the fight. However, Jinwoo’s determination pushes him to use his full strength with his bare hands, eventually ripping and tearing the snake’s head off. This was a major win for Jinwoo, since he leveled up several times due to the gap in levels between himself and the boss.

After heading back to the real world, Jinwoo is greeted by a guard that reveals an monster outbreak occurred in the city. The guard escorts Jinwoo to the monster and from afar, Jinwoo launches his broken sword toward the monster, immediately breaking its guard. This gives the nearby hunters the chance to defeat the monster and end the outbreak. Jinwoo avoids the hunters and innocent bystanders to avoid recognition for his deeds, but Joohee managed to see the whole incident nearby.
