Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Demo Out Now for PlayStation 5

    Experience the opening chapter.

Square Enix has revealed a demo for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth at today’s State of Play. Good news, as it is now available from the PlayStation Store! It’s the perfect time to try out the game before it releases later this month. While this news was leaked yesterday by PSN, we’re so excited to jump in and try out the game for ourselves!

The demo will allow you to traverse through the opening chapter of the game, which is the Nibelheim flashback sequence. You’ll have the choice of playing as either Cloud or Sephiroth. That’s not all, though. Another demo will be added sometime between now and the launch. You’ll also get to explore a portion of the giant world of Gaia, with a small section of Under Junon that is playable as well. Here, you can experience exploration and also fight the Terror of the Deep.

“Experience the power of choice! The Final Fantasy VII Rebirth demo is out now, allowing you to step into the shoes of either Cloud or Sephiroth during the Nibelheim episode. Uncover the opening chapter of the game’s story and explore the world map. Your adventure, your choice!”

You’ll be able to transfer your save data from the demo to the full game if you’d like. That way, you can jump right into Chapter 2. Download the demo in the PlayStation Store now and complete it to earn the following items:

    • Kupo charm: An accessory that increases the number of resource items extracted at a set rate.
    • Survival set: A selection of items to aid on your adventure, such as potions and ethers.

On February 21, the demo will receive an update titled “Dawn of a New Era in Junon” featuring a section of the Junon region around the harbor town.
