The developers of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night at ArtPlay announced that free Shantae cosmetic DLC is coming to the game with the release of the Version 1.5 update. The DLC is aptly named the Half-Genie Cosmetic Pack.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a beloved spiritual successor to Koji Igarashi and Konami’s Castlevania franchise. The game’s next major update, Version 1.5, will add Chaos mode, VS mode, and three new paid cosmetic packs for Miriam.

Alongside the aforementioned paid cosmetic packs, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will receive a free Shantae Half-Genie Cosmetic Pack. The DLC will be available with the release of Version 1.5, and it will feature a full costume for Miriam according to ArtPlay. Moreover, the DLC includes items inspired by her pirate nemesis, Risky Boots.

Each of the cosmetic pack items can be individually equipped and upgraded. Players must speak to Johannes in Arvanville and use the crafting recipes to make new, powerful versions. If Miriam wears the entire Shantae costume, including weapon, body, head, and both accessory slots, players will be rewarded with a special Half-Genie status bar.

The Half-Genie Cosmetic Pack contains the following items:

    • Half-Genie Outfit (Body Slot)
    • Half-Genie Vest (Accessory Slot)
    • Half-Genie Tiara (Accessory Slot)
    • Risky Blade (Weapon Slot)
    • Risky Pistol (Weapon Slot)
    • Risky Bandana (Head Slot)
    • Half-Genie Fireball (Directional Shard)

ArtPlay plans to share an updated content roadmap, including release information for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Version 1.5, soon.

Previously, Koji Igarashi teased a new game announcement for 2024. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night appears to be wrapping up this year, so fans won’t have to wait much longer for an announcement.

“In 2024, I’d like to shift my focus to a new title, ” Igarashi said. “To do that, we must first properly wrap up work on Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. While there is some content still to be released, I believe that we should be able to make a big announcement in 2024. I’d also like to take on new challenges if the opportunity arises.”
