Pokémon series developer Game Freak filed new trademarks for “PAND LAND,” which appears to be the name of a new game. The game’s name and logos were trademarked in November and December 2023 respectively, but the trademarks were recently made public.
In May 2023, The Outer Worlds publisher Private Division and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet developer Game Freak announced a partnership to develop a new action-adventure game. This new game is codenamed “Project Bloom,” and its in early development with a launch planned by 2026 or so. The new PAND LAND trademarks could be Project Bloom’s official title going forward.
New PAND LAND Trademarks
Game Freak filed a single trademark for the PAND LAND title and two for the title’s logos in Japan. PAND LAND was trademarked first on November 8, 2023 and made public shortly afterwards, but it flew under the radar until Gematsu picked up on it. The logo trademarks were filed on December 28, 2023 and made public on January 12 in Japan.
Game Freak have not announced a game called PAND LAND, but the possibility of it being Project Bloom remains. The project appears to be fully owned by Game Freak, since the company was listed as the trademark’s applicant. Rumors and speculation will likely continue through 2024, as fans await a potential Nintendo Switch 2 console.
Private Division is handling publishing duties for Project Bloom, while Game Freak develops the game. An official title for the game has not been finalized, the game is expected to release in fiscal year 2026 according to Private Division parent company Take-Two Interactive. Platforms for the new title were not announced, however. New concept art for Project Bloom was revealed alongside comments from the directors of Private Division and Game Freak this past May.
Lastly, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is available now for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
