Fate/Extra Record Gets a Development Update & New Screenshot

    Round 7 development is underway.

To celebrate New Year’s Day 2024, Type-Moon Studio BB director Kazuya Nino revealed a new screenshot for Fate/Extra Record, revealing that the game’s “Round 7” segment is in development.

Fate/Extra Record is an remake of the original 2010 PSP title, and updates regarding the game’s development have been few and far between ever since its July 2020 reveal. During Fate/Grand Order Festival 2023, Nino assured fans that development was progressing steadily. The game has not received a new trailer since July 2022, but the latest development update is very promising.

On Twitter, Kazuya Nino greets fans in the new year and apologizes for the lack of updates since Fate/Grand Order 2023 in the summer. To commemorate the first sunrise of the year, Nino shared a new screenshot from the Round 7 portion of Fate/Extra Record. The female protagonist may be seen looking into the sunrise within the game, with Leonardo B. Harwey standing near a waterfall. Development of the game is still underway, so it will be a while before Type-Moon Studio BB shares another update.

While waiting on Fate/Extra Record, fans may play through Fate/Samurai Remnant, a stunning action RPG developed by Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force studio. Moreover, fans may look forward to Fate/Samurai Remnant DLC Vol. 1 “Record’s Fragment: Keian Command Championship” in February 2024. Gilgamesh invites all of the Masters and their Servants to a grand tournament in this new DLC. Two more DLC packs will release sometime in 2024.

Additionally, a new Fate/strange Fake anime series is in the works. The original anime special premiered on July 1, 2023 on Crunchyroll, so fans should catch up with it while waiting for the anime.

Fate/Extra Record is currently in development at Type-Moon Studio BB with no confirmed platforms or release date. In the meantime, read up on Final Weapon’s latest reviews for Type-Moon works.
