Fate/Grand Order Festival 2023 concluded without a new Fate/Extra Record trailer, but director Kazuya Nino reassures fans that development is “progressing steadily.” This is the first update in nearly a year for Fate/Extra Record.
Announced in July 2020, Fate/Extra Record is a remake of the original 2010 PSP title by Type-Moon Studio BB, one of the company’s newly established game studios. The remake is being developed in Unreal Engine 4. Fans would receive multiple updates for the game in the remainder of 2020, but news would cease entirely until a new trailer was released in July 2022. Once more, Type-Moon Studio BB would refrain from sharing updates for the course of another year.
Fate/Extra Record Development Update
Type-Moon Studio BB director Kazuya Nino was pleased with the positive fan reaction to FGO Fes 2023. Although Nino can’t share more information about the new game, the director states that development is progressing steadily. The development team is very serious about making the game.
Here’s what Nino had to say on his official Twitter account:
“Thank you to everyone who attended FGO Festival on both days! All of the fans were so excited! Some of you may be worried about the lack of Fate/Extra Record information, but the game’s development is progressing steadily, said Kazuya Nino. “We are really serious about making it!”
Fans may also look forward to Fate/Samurai Remnant, a new Fate action RPG developed by Koei Tecmo and Omega Force. During FGO Fes 2023, Type-Moon confirmed Cú Chulainn and Tamamo Aria will be playable Servants in the new title. Additionally, a new trailer featuring Rogue Servants was revealed at the event. Fate/Samurai Remnant is scheduled to release on September 28 in Japan and September 29 worldwide for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
Finally, Fate/Extra Record is currently in development at Type-Moon Studio BB with no confirmed platforms or release date.
