Square Enix announced the global version of Dragon Quest Tact is shutting down on February 29, 2024. The game will end service roughly three years after its global launch on January 27, 2021.
Dragon Quest Tact launched on July 16, 2020 as a free-to-play strategy RPG in Japan. The game received more than three years of consistent updates, but it also has a bizarre reputation. Sonic the Hedgehog creator Yuji Naka was charged for insider trading, as he bought and sold stocks of Dragon Quest Tact developer Aiming with insider information ahead of the game’s announcement.
Dragon Quest Tact Global End of Service
According to Square Enix, the company decided that it would be difficult to continuing maintaining Dragon Quest Tact, so it will be shutting down the game. The Japanese version is unaffected by the global shutdown, but it seems likely it will be a matter of time before this version shuts down, too.
Sales of gems have been completely disabled, but Dragon Quest Tact players may continue to use any remaining gems before February 29. Moreover, sales of metal cards and passports have ended as well.
