    My Hero Academia Live-Action Series is in Production

    The live-action series exits pre-production.

    The new My Hero Academia live-action series is now in production at Netflix, according to a recent interview from Collider. The news comes just one day removed from the My Hero Academia Season 7 announcement, which confirms the anime will return in spring 2024. 

    After My Hero Academia season 6 anime aired in Japan, TOHO Animation confirmed season 7 was in production. My Hero Academia Movie 4 was also announced in the August 2023 issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, while development of a live-action series has progressed in the background.

    My Hero Academia Live-Action Series Details

    When speaking to Collider, Legendary Entertainment producer Joby Harold confirms that the My Hero Academia live-action series has already started production at Netflix. Harold notes that this particular project is one that he’s loved working on so far. Although he can’t speak on specifics just yet, Harold says it’s an amazing opportunity. 

    IMDB notes that My Hero Academia creator Kôhei Horikoshi is one of the live action series’ main writers alongside Harold. Shinsuke Sato is the director, Don Burgess is director of photography, and Spencer Averick is the lead editor. More official details will likely will likely come at a later date.

    Where to Watch the Anime

    Fans may stream My Hero Academia: Two Heroes and all six seasons of the My Hero Academia anime on Crunchyroll with English subs and dubs. The other two movies, My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, and My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission, may be found on Hulu, Max, Amazon Prime Video, and other subscription services.
