Final Fantasy XVI Echoes of the Fallen DLC Releases Today

The first wave is out tonight.

At The Game Awards 2023, Square Enix announced that the first round of Final Fantasy XVI DLC, titled Echoes of the Fallen, is out TODAY. The second round of DLC, titled The Rising Tide, is set to release in Spring 2024.

A synopsis of the DLC can be found here via PlayStation Store:

Echoes of the Fallen unlocks a whole new story, battles, weapons, accessories, level cap and more. For players who have completed the required quests, this new adventure begins before the base game’s final battle, as strange, dark crystals begin to circulate on the black market. Players will follow Clive and his friends during their investigations as they encounter a group of suspicious traders, leading them to a long-abandoned Fallen tower known as the Sagespire. There, they will unravel the terrible secrets that await within.

The DLC is available now for purchase for $9.99. It will cost you 8GB of storage in total.

    About Final Fantasy XVI

Final Fantasy XVI Sales Meet Expectations

Final Fantasy XVI was developed by Creative Business Unit III, led by Director Hiroshi Takai and Producer Naoki Yoshida. CBUIII is behind the critically acclaimed MMO Final Fantasy XIV, which continues to grow each year.

Clive Rosfield is the main protagonist of the title, voiced by Ben Starr. He is the only playable character, as the game has a high action focus, or at least more so than previous Final Fantasy titles. Combat design has been directed by Ryota Suzuki, who was a key member of the Devil May Cry 5 and Dragon’s Dogma combat design teams.

A free Final Fantasy XVI demo is available to play now! This demo allows players to play through two sections, the Prologue of FFXVI and the Eikonic Challenge. You’ll be able to get a taste of the game’s story, world, and combat with this demo. You can learn all about the demo by checking out the posts below.

Final Fantasy XVI was launched on June 22, 2023, exclusively on PlayStation 5.
