THQ Nordic has announced that they have delayed Alone in the Dark to March 20, 2024. This is now the game’s second delay, as they would’ve initially released it in October 2023, before delaying it to January 2024. THQ cites the delay as being due to “the well-being of our teams” being “a top priority.”
Alone in the Dark is the latest entry in the classic survival horror franchise of the same name. The game will feature several famous actors, such as David Harbour and Jodie Comer. THQ Nordic has elaborated on its reasons for delaying the game in a post on their Twitter/X account.
Alone in the Dark Delay Details
In an official post, THQ Nordic announced that they will be once again delaying Alone in the Dark. The game will now release on March 20, 2024, instead of January 16, 2024. In terms of the why, THQ Nordic states that the “well-being of our teams is a top priority, and both companies want to avoid any potential crunch over the holidays – this is why we have decided to move the release date to March 20, 2024.”
THQ Nordic initially delayed the game from October to January 2024. They would’ve initially released Alone in the Dark alongside several other major games in October. These include adventure games like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, platformers like Super Mario Bros Wonder, and other horror games like Alan Wake II. It is unknown whether the game will stick to its March release date.
